Roughhouse

Get set up

One command and one sign-in. Then ask Claude Code or Codex to make a prototype, put it on Roughhouse and read what people said.

  1. Paste this into your agent

Works in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. It runs setup, adds the skills and connects the MCP server.

Or paste this in Terminal yourself

    npx -y https://app.roughhouse.dev/cli.tgz setup
  2. Sign in when the browser opens

Use your work email. You only do this once on each computer.

  3. Ask in your own words

Open your project in Claude Code or Codex. Setup added two skills, and the right one takes over.

Skills come from skills.sh

Setup installs them with skills.sh, so they update like any other skill. Run npx skills update to get the latest, or add them on their own with:

npx skills add https://app.roughhouse.dev

What you can ask for

  • Make a prototype

Builds a new prototype from an idea: a few screens, with two to four versions to compare, using real products and copy.

    Try asking

    • “Prototype a checkout that skips the cart”
    • “Mock up three ways to show saved samples”
    /roughhouse-prototypeClaude Code$roughhouse-prototypeCodex
  • Share it and read the comments

Builds what you've made, fixes anything that stops it fitting, uploads it and gives you the link. It also reads the comments and publishes new versions.

    Try asking

    • “Put this on Roughhouse”
    • “What did people say about this?”
    • “Publish a new version with those changes”
    /roughhouseClaude Code$roughhouseCodex

What it handles

  • A single HTML file
  • A Vite app
  • A Next app without a server

Best for a few light pages, not full apps. Anything a prototype pulls from an API is saved into the upload. There are no logins, secrets or live back ends, because anyone with the link can view it.
